I am a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed addiction counselor that provides therapeutic services for individuals, adolescents, young adults and parents. I attended graduate school at New Mexico Highlands University and completed my clinical practicum at Fort Lewis College Counseling Center. I received my master in Clinical Social Work in 2016. Following the completion of my social work masters program, I attended training through Seven Cedars Live and Online training for addiction counseling. I started my social work journey in wilderness therapy, working in many different capacities: guide, admissions counselor, and family services guide. After six years, I transitioned into a local youth services agency. I worked for several years providing case management directly to youth and families and the last few years I have been supervising those that provide direct service to youth. I also work as a family coach for families that have children in treatment, supporting their child’s transition home. I work collaboratively and creatively, walking alongside you on your journey, to help you navigate life's challenges. I believe that every person has worth and dignity and deserves the opportunity to experience joy, hope, health, relief, and recovery. Together, we will explore opportunities for creative growth so you may rediscover your sense of well-being. I am passionate about supporting the well-being, balance and wholeness of each client. I believe every person deserves the space and opportunity to let their authentic selves flourish. I believe people have the strength and determination to grow if given the resources to do so. My hope is to empower each individual by guiding them along the journey of personal growth and change. I take an integrative approach in which I blend different but complimentary techniques. This flexible approach enables the counseling experience to be tailored to the individual needs of each client. I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness. I have experience in nature-based therapy and also bring my passion for art to my work. I utilize these different approaches to work with anxiety, depression, loss and grief, education and learning, low self-esteem, phase of life issues, family and relationship challenges, and substance use. We will explore experiential activities, skill building, psycho-education and between session activities. Together, we will work to deepen your awareness and understanding of your needs to decrease symptoms and increase wellness so you may experience a more authentic and fulfilling life. Outside of my work, I spend time connecting with family and friends. I do cherish my time alone to reflect on my own journey. I love adventuring in the natural world, it has a way of reflecting just what I need in the moment. Through my own life experiences, nature has been a healing space for me. I have an amazing dog; Luna aka looney tunes aka Schmoops aka peanut; who accompanies me on all my adventures. I have a wonderful partner and enjoy spending time with him and his two amazing daughters. I love to hike, backpack, mountain bike, cross country ski and standup paddleboard (yes, Luna gets on the paddleboard with me). I am also a creative at heart and I have been diving into watercolors for the last several years. Painting in nature is my jam. I love being able to interpret my experience through my art, it has been full of growth and healing.
