Is burnout a mental illness?

Burnout is not classified as a mental illness. However, it is a common condition that people experience when they overly exhaust themselves. It can cause a person to develop emotional exhaustion and detachment from their work.

The most common symptoms are fatigue and exhaustion brought on by stress.

Of course, this does not mean that everyone who feels fatigued has burnout.

The first step to identifying  whether you have burnout is first to consider your lifestyle.

For instance, if you have a stressful job that causes you to avoid your friends more than usual, it may be time to check whether you're experiencing burnout.

Burnout results in fatigue and exhaustion, making it difficult for sufferers to engage in their daily lives.

Symptoms include lack of motivation, negative thought patterns, and even physical symptoms such as difficulty breathing or headaches.

Mental health evaluations can often reveal the root cause of the problem.
