Yana Lechtman, Psy.D. graduated from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Lenox-Hill Hospital, NYC. Working with children, adults and families I am committed to foster a collaborative process tailored to fit your needs and style. I will help you work through challenges of coping with distressing emotions, difficulties in relationships, issues of transitions, identity development, and cultural diversity. I am also experienced working with those who struggle with suicidal thoughts and self-harm behaviors. I place a special focus on interpersonal connection and the ability to understand and cope with any and all emotional experience. While providing a respectful and non-judgmental environment, I will encourage an open and honest communication — you can expect the same from me. Together we will dive into exploring the underlying issues that contribute to your emotional distress. We will reinforce what contributes to your well-being, while letting go of what no longer serves you. Understanding the ways in which you came to be who you are and what is it that you aspire to be, will guide our work together. You can also expect me to be creative in offering you practical tools which will help you achieve your goals.
