Hi there- I'm glad you made it here. My name is Will Riggs and I am a licensed mental health counselor and substance use disorder professional in Washington State. I received my counselor education at Seattle University, where I graduated with a Master of Arts in Education, Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree in 2021. Seeking therapy is a courageous step toward investing in your future. Currently, I am available to meet with clients in person in West Seattle, or online via telehealth. I have experience working with teens and adults who have concerns related to anxiety, depression, relationships (familial and romantic), and problematic substance use (i.e., alcohol, cannabis, etc.). I also enjoy working with clients are struggling with finding a sense of meaning, purpose, and authenticity in their lives. I offer space and opportunity to get real and make sense of life's toughest challenges. My counseling approach is best described as integrative, meaning I draw on various theories and modalities to inform my practice. I have particular interest in using tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat a variety of presenting concerns, as well as mindfulness practice, narrative therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I offer a safe space that fosters authenticity, hope, and insight - a place where you can be yourself. Regardless of the counseling interventions used, I believe the most critical aspect of an effective counseling relationship is situated in the therapeutic alliance between client and counselor. If it sounds like we could be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out to schedule a free 15 minute telephonic consultation. The best way to contact me is via telephone (206-898-3049) or email (WillistonRiggs@gmail.com). Whatever brought you here, my hope is that you are successful in your journey toward a more authentic self. I look forward to hearing from you.
