I am interested in working with clients who range from early adolescence through mature adult and who could benefit from a patient and caring approach to easing distress and solving problems. My years of experience have taught me that the best approach in counseling is to use the strengths of the client as well as desire to change for the better in finding answers and developing skills. I have worked in outpatient clinics, substance abuse treatment, family law and drug courts, hospital acute treatment and residential treatment programs for adolescents and young adults. I have worked closely with psychiatrists, physical medicine providers, attorneys, wilderness treatment programs and educational consultants. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a high school teacher. I am a veteran of the US Army.
