The people who see me may be looking to change things about their relationships, self-esteem, creativity, or simply their lifestyle in general. Sometimes they are seeking a safe place to talk about deeper personal matters such as adult and childhood trauma, abuse, or negative thinking patterns (e.g. all-or-nothing outlooks, self-criticism or blame, fears, feeling lost, etc.) Others may want to overcome barriers to their artistic pursuits and improve their self-care habits, or be looking to navigate the always-complex world of love, dating, and relationships that even the best of us need a little help with sometimes. My method of approach is a combination of Psychodynamic (how our pasts can affect us) and Humanistic (providing an open, safe environment to talk). This is supplemented by a trauma-informed approach to understanding and healing and Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) for practicing healthy self-care and self-talk. It is said by some that life is an ongoing journey of bright hills and shadowy valleys. Whatever the truth, there is no obligation that anyone must traverse these places alone. If you seek guidance, I will support you. If you want to be heard, I will listen. And if you are hurting, I am here for you.
