As a first generation Latina woman, I believe in breaking down the cultural barriers and stigma involved with underserved populations receiving mental health services. I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker and received my Masters Degree from Boise State University. I became passionate about this field as an adolescent growing up in a community where the acculturation process often led to conflicting emotions, feelings, and behaviors. From a young age, it was clear to me that I wanted to be part of helping individuals/families navigate emerging societal pressures through managing their mental health symptoms and maximizing their overall well-being. During my time practicing as a therapist in community mental health, I have worked with all ages (child-adult), both individually and in family settings, who have experienced difficult life transitions including: grief and loss, parent/child conflict, and acculturation/family dynamic issues that have often led to behavioral acting out, depression, and anxiety. I have worked in collaboration with the County (Department of Children and Family Services, Probation and School Districts) to ensure my client's and their families are receiving the support needed to address their presenting issues. I also spent several years working with un-housed individuals who I assisted with accessing mental-health and/or substance recovery services and job resources. Most recently, I have also enjoyed working with individuals in the private practice setting. Utilizing a variety of different treatment modalities has been essential in building a comfortable and trusting therapeutic alliance with all my clients. If you are interested in setting up a 15 min consultation prior to scheduling an appointment, please contact me at your earliest convenience. I look forward to meeting you! *Fluent in Spanish
