Introduction

Welcome to my practice! I am a licensed clinical psychologist committed to helping you build a life worth living. I work with a variety of issues including coping with chronic pain, recovering from trauma, anxiety, depression, and learning to manage emotions. My approach is to work collaboratively with you to learn new behaviors and skills to replace ineffective patterns of behavior that are interfering in your life. I obtained my doctorate from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where I was trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) by Dr. Alan Fruzzetti. known world-wide for his research and work in DBT. I was trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) by Dr. Steven Hayes, the founder of the approach, and by Dr. Victoria Follette, who is an expert in ACT for survivors of trauma. My work is rooted in science and I utilize cutting-edge evidence-based treatments, including ACT, DBT, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). For chronic pain, I utilize a specific CBT for Chronic Pain protocol as well as ACT. For trauma, I use Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure, which are considered the gold standard psychological treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Finally, I use DBT for assisting patients with difficulties managing emotions. I believe the outcome of therapy is to help you live a life in accordance to your values and long-term goals. I will strive to give you the guidance and tools to make that a reality.
