My name is Wallace Robert Ascencio, but most people call me by my middle name "Robert". I earned my Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration Management from University of Phoenix, a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California (USC), and an executive certificate of Psychology from Liberty University. Currently, I am in the process of earning a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Liberty University (July 2024). I am also a Marine Corps veteran and former Benton County firefighter. I have worked primarily in community agencies, outpatient clinics, and school settings with children, teens, adults, families, couples, and veterans to treat a wide array of disorders such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and childhood trauma. I practice and specialize in developmental psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, attachment, solution-focused therapy (SFT), motivational interviewing (MI), grief counseling, and acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT). I tend to follow a person-centered and strengths-based approach to assist those that I work with in healing and reaching their personal goals. I also enjoy setting a laid-back and comfortable environment for those that have never been in counseling because change takes time!
