Introduction

Therapy is a very personal journey. For many LGBTQ+ people, it is vital that their therapist has direct knowledge and personal experience of the queer community. LGBTQ+ members often struggle with stressors not experienced by the dominant culture. Dealing with discrimination, coming out to one's family, and discovering an "authentic" self in the face of social pressures can lead to higher levels of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and suicide for LGBTQ+ individuals. I have specialized in trauma and addictions for over a decade. I hold certifications in both EMDR and CPT for trauma, MI/MET for addictions, and ACT for mood disorders. I also possess a PhD in Depth Psychology, which is the study of the unconscious. I provide a LGBTQ+ centered, mindfulness-based approach working in the present moment to help clients uncover, process, and heal unconscious wounds of the past that drive repetitive maladaptive behaviors.
