I have been working in the mental health field since 2010. I began working with many clients with developmental disorders and Autism, teaching life skills and behavioral management. In 2012, I started working with children and families within a home and community setting. Teaching behavioral techniques/plans, coping skills, parenting techniques/skills, and assisted with 504 plans with school districts. I finished my master’s in clinical mental health counseling in 2016 and began working with adults, running groups, and completing intakes. I have experience working with addictions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, personality disorders, Autism, and developmental disorders. The main diagnosis I work with is ADHD, teens to adults for diagnosis & treatment. In therapy, I use many different modalities. I commonly use CBT, behavioral therapy, ACT, and Biblical counseling. I also use motivational interviewing, family systems, and a person-centered. I provide services and therapy based on the client’s individual needs and culture. I use assessments every three months to monitor progress along with client surveys. My office hours will be Mon-Thursday 8am-4pm EST, teletherapy only. The sliding scale fee for service is 50.00-120.00 a session, depending on income. I do not take insurance at this time. https://headway.co/providers/virginia-nielsen?utm_source=pem&utm_medium=direct_link&utm_campaign=58042 https://openpathcollective.org/open-path-therapists/application-full/?ref=10937
