Life gives us challenges. No way around it. Sometimes help is needed to work through these challenges. Sometimes difficulties happen at our work, in our relationships, or maybe something that we have been avoiding for years becomes overwhelming. Talking about the problem helps, hiding from the problem can make things worse. Communication is an excellent pathway to self growth. My name is Vincent Dhan. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC). I specialize in mental health, addictions, and co-occurring disorders. I work with adults of all genders and orientations. My mission is to provide individuals, couples, and groups with high quality therapy that is evidence based, client centered, and trauma informed. I practice from elements of CBT, DBT, ACT, and internal family systems. My approach to therapy is always unique to each and every client, as each person has a different lived experience that must be accounted for and tailored to fit. I do not believe in one size fits all therapy. As a clinician, I help treat the root causes of the problems in peoples’ lives. The objective is always to put out the fire, not just fan the smoke. These human problems do not have to be faced alone. Mental health, addictions, and co-occurring disorders are human problems that everyone deals with in their lives and should not be stigmatized. Suffering alone is painful and makes it difficult to function in the world and be authentic. My hope for each of my clients is that they become more sincere to their own values and beliefs. I help each of my clients to not only talk through issues, but to develop practical real life skills to better manage their emotions from day to day.
