Introduction

Hello! It's great that you are on a journey to make some important and healthy changes in your life. Mental health is crucial to living a more realized life and it cannot be neglected. Psychotherapy is the best path to take. It helps you challenge some areas where you feel stuck. Also, it helps relieve the pain, stress or some of the symptoms you are experiencing in your every day life. I am happy to help you through this difficult process. I understand finding a therapist who is a good fit can be a daunting process. Let me help you through that process so you can determine if I may be a good fit for you. I graduated with a Masters of Psychiatric Social Work from Washington University in 94 and ever since then have worked in a variety of settings from a Hospital, Clinic, Treatment Center, and of course in my own practice. So I have the experience of working with a variety of problems. This experience has allowed me to work with people from all over the world with both chronic and minor mental health concerns. As a clinician I have worked with people who have depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders and those who have a history of trauma(PTSD). My approach is primarily cognitive behavioral with a significant emphasis on the person's present. Those who would benefit are people who are looking at moving forward with their life with more deliberation and direction. Moving away from seeing themselves as the result of their circumstances but as the master of their being. I focus on changing an imbedded pattern of thinking in an individual. By changing the individual's "thought reflex", they find that they are able to achieve a greater sense of focus in life. They will see their life more open with endless possibilites. I will teach forms of meditation and tapping that can also make this happen. My interest in Neuropsychology allows me to understand the workings of the brain and how that is related to our mental health. You will began to understand how your brain works and how it can be shifted through your way of thinking. Most clients find that I come from a non-judgemental approach and an understanding of cultural, religious and familial frameworks. This helps those persons who come from varied and unique backgrounds wanting someone who will understand them. I hope this helps you understand my experience and treatment focus a little better which will help you make an important decision for yourself.
