As an undergraduate, I studied philosophy, which cultivated in me a lot of curiosity and the ability to ask good questions, both of which led me toward a life of work in human services. After working in residential, crisis and social work programs, supporting humans across the lifespan (5-103!) for over a decade, I returned to graduate school at University of Southern Maine, where I obtained a MS in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. In my current practice, I work with adolescents (13-17) and adults of any age. I have particular experience supporting folks who are navigating life transitions (including graduate or post-secondary school), examining the impact their family of origin has had on them, reflecting on their use of substances, experiencing relationship struggles or issues of grief and loss, recovering from trauma or abuse, coping with anxiety or panic disorders, parents of children with disabilities, and individuals who have a chronic medical condition or disability. I offer an integrative approach to therapy from a humanistic, emotions-focused and attachment-oriented base, and when it is helpful to you, may incorporate cognitive or dialectical-behavioral, acceptance and commitment therapy, solutions-focused, family systems, or other modalities, in addition to Trauma Regulation and Integration Processing (TRIP) for trauma-focused therapy. I believe you are the expert on your own life. As a therapist, I commit to be a compassionate, non-judgmental partner as we explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships, and support you in your pursuit of wellness, connection and a meaningful life.
