Currently, NO WAITLIST. "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it" (Helen Keller). My work aims to reduce suffering through evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. I have extensive experience treating trauma survivors and with the refugee, asylum-seeker, and immigrant communities. My practice has focused on people of color; clients with serious mental illness; and individuals with justice system-involvement, neurodivergence (esp. autism), and HIV. I have been honored to work with a truly diverse clientele to help manage a variety of problems. Through our work, my clients have experienced a reduction in distress, developed skills to manage uncomfortable feelings, improved communication, implemented healthy boundaries, decreased anger outbursts and impulsivity, and increased value-driven behaviors. My style is warm, collaborative, genuine, and nonjudgmental and my approach is integrative, emphasizes strengths, and is rooted in a social justice orientation. Expect direct communication and humor. I welcome you to explore culture and identity in therapy. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my community by guiding others toward greater well-being.
