Introduction

Trauma changes us and the way we see the world. In fact it takes things away from us that we really want. Surviving trauma makes clients resilient, but can leave them feeling disconnected from themselves and the world. Their struggles may look like anxiety, depression, avoidance, chronic physical illness, loss of sense of self or grief that does not go away. I am specialized in EMDR trauma therapy and Mindfulness-Holistic Psychotherapy. I work with adults who need support with trauma connected to complex grief, divorce, disruptive family relationships/attachments, sexual trauma, childhood abuse, or other stressful life transitions. With EMDR therapy, I help my clients reconnect with themselves to discover more about who they are and learn new ways to manage these struggles. What I love about EMDR is that it helps clients process big emotions and traumatic events that felt stuck for them for a long time and helps them relearn ways of being that help them attain the life they desire. I also utilize a holistic therapeutic approach, incorporating mindfulness and somatic interventions which allows me to tailor the therapy to the specific needs of each client. Together we create a safe environment for you to work by creating a strong alliance and using your character strengths to help you manage your identified areas for growth. Your history and cultural background help make up your story, so we work together to integrate them into your therapeutic journey. My role is to assist you along your journey to mental well-being, while you change the way you think and create the life you want to live. It is my goal to help you build the tools to be even more resilient. If you are someone feels ready for change in your life, and are looking for a research-backed, efficient method to gain control of your life back, then EMDR therapy might be for you. I have daytime and evening appointments. I accept BlueCross Blue Shield/Carefirst and Anthem/Carefirst. Reach out and schedule an appointment today.
