Hello! My name is Vanessa Torres and I am an ACSW ready to help you tackle what life has thrown at you. I specialize in working with children and teens with the ultimate goal of helping them feel successful in their day to day lives. I have worked with youth in the mental health setting for about 8+ years. My passion for helping children/teens and families began with trying to understand the “bad kid.” I always wondered why they weren’t being successful in their daily lives and how I could help. I have a passion for helping children/teens find themselves, find their voice in the world and find ways that they can be successful. Through my education and lived experience I help children/teens find themselves. I assist children/teens in reflecting and reacting more positively to the world around them when they feel like they have no control. I collaborate with clients, parents and other social support in planning and working towards my clients goals. Past clients have reported feeling more confident in their day to day life and have stated that they are grateful to have had a safe space to talk to prepare them for the next chapter in their lives. Others have reported being able to get through their difficult circumstances with more ease. I think it is important to identify your strengths in order to help you navigate difficult issues that may arise in your life. I provide a safe space for your child to be seen and heard. I am currently working at Take Control Therapeutic Services under the supervision of Jessica Brito. MSW LCSW.
