Introduction

Hello, I am Vanessa (she/her), and I am deeply committed to empowering individuals grappling with stress and mental health challenges through a holistic and relational approach. My practice is rooted in guiding clients toward well-being and empowering them to reclaim their innate strengths. As an alumna of Smith College and UC Berkeley, my professional journey spans various sectors, including hospitality, school social work, restorative justice, residential programs, substance use prevention and recovery, mobile crisis intervention, juvenile justice, advocacy, and private practice in mental health and social work. I am driven by a commitment to advocating for the expansion of mental health resources and restorative justice practices across settings. With me as your therapist, you'll experience patience, collaboration, and vitality. In my private practice, Rose Wellness Therapy & Consulting, not accepting insurance affords me the flexibility to draw upon strength-based, non-diagnostic clinical approaches and move beyond the symptom management focus that diagnostic paradigms encourage. I recognize how our relentless "grind culture" and oppressive systems weigh on your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. My passion lies in uplifting those in helping and caregiving roles and vocations. I envision a world dismantling systemic oppression and cultivating communities of mutual aid and solidarity where all individuals can flourish in empowering, safe environments. In this vision, therapy and mental health support are radical acts of care, integral to healing trauma, challenging oppressive structures, and nurturing the collective well-being necessary for true liberation. Current offerings include individual therapy for adults navigating mental health challenges, providing compassionate support and guidance. Future offerings will include specialized resources for burnout, group therapy, clinical supervision for associate social workers, workshops on mental health and wellness, community mutual aid efforts, and wellness retreats.
