Vanessa has a passion for helping others learn that their past does not define who they are today or who they will be tomorrow. She believes that change and rehabilitation may seem impossible to many, yet both are possible when they are really desired. Vanessa understands how life and environments can become a routine, a pattern, and sometimes an unhealthy cycle. Her goal is to help you break this repetition by rediscovering your strengths, values, and core beliefs. She has experience working with individuals, families, children, and adolescents. Vanessa is skilled in several different techniques including Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Vanessa is licensed by the state of Texas as a professional counselor and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Forensic Psychology from Kaplan University and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. She has worked in mental health clinics such as inpatient and outpatient, university counseling centers, court-mandated counseling centers, and private practice.
