Introduction
Valerie Tamez, MA, LPC Associate, LCDC, supervised by Dr. Jeremy Berry, Ph.D, LPC-S, NCC is an Austin-born native. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Texas State University. Valerie encompasses a diverse professional background with more than a decade of experience in a multinational financial services company, and years of volunteer work supporting local underprivileged youth populations. As a Counselor Associate, Valerie encompasses experience with addiction, dual diagnosis, co-occurring symptoms ranging from anxiety, depression, trauma, defiance, spiritual malady, and much more, all from an individual and/or systemic approach. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults. Valerie is passionate about the role she plays in humanity. While she is aware that life is nothing short of its fair share in suffering, she thrives in helping clients see the opportunities in those painful moments. Her unique approach meets you where you are, taking a genuine interest in you and understanding your personal needs. Throughout the therapeutic process, Valerie aims to provide you with the appropriate amount of challenge and support to strengthen faith in yourself, your abilities, and a worthy path forward in the face of any adversity.
