You don't have to suffer alone. I'm here to help you understand your distress, find relief, and move toward a life that is meaningful to you. I specialize in working with anxiety and depressive disorders. I am also passionate about treating people with chronic or severe insomnia. My experience and training span a broad range of other issues, and I regularly support clients with those, as well. My approach is both structured and flexible; I will suggest specific approaches for some concerns and keep our path more open-ended for others. I will also look to you for any preferences you have about the form our sessions take. My professional journey has taken me inside the criminal justice system and to Central America. As a therapist, I am trained in a number of research-supported therapies. I am currently training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which can help with developing more awareness, coping with emotional pain, and clarifying deeply-held values. When we meet, I focus on fostering an affirming and safe environment where you can express who you are and build on your strengths.
