Introduction

Hi, I'm Tonya and look forward to connecting with you! My approach: Everyone has incredible strengths that can be accessed to handle any type of problem. I bring a unique approach to my practice in that I have lived and worked all over the United States. I never imagined living in Alabama, but here I am! I work individually with each client by determining what they want to be different or better. Many times my clients often just want to be heard and listened to, which can be incredibly healing. My main goal is to get you to start feeling better as quickly as possible! My Training: I have extensive experience in supporting youth, adults, college students, families and couples through a variety of challenges and transitions. I have training in evidenced based practices in children's mental health, cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety, depression, anger and weight loss, Gottman Level 2 training for couples counseling, training on treating affairs, internal family systems for a variety of other concerns including trauma, and training in grief counseling. Basically, that just means that you will get the best care possible for your current challenges. What I do for fun: I enjoy spending time with my husband and 4 boys, traveling, hiking, reading, working out, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.
