Why I do this work I have always been a very compassionate person and I love to help others. I have been through my own journey to reach wholeness and I understand the hard work that goes into making healthy life changes. I want to be there for others so that they know they are never alone. My Education & Experience I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Health Science from Towson University. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from The University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have over 8 years post graduate experience working in private practice, outpatient mental health clinics and school based settings providing therapy services to clients of all ages. My Specialties I specialize in working with teens, college students and female adults struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, life’s transitions, grief and trauma. I use a person centered, CBT and mindfulness approach to therapy focusing on acceptance, support, challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors, problem solving, development of healthy outlets and focusing on the present moment. Therapy is tailored to meet the needs of each individual client. I create a nonjudgmental space where you can explore and experiment with new solutions. I have a strong passion in working with children and families, helping to strengthen the family unit through development of parenting skills, better boundaries, communication and behavioral management. I assist children with the development of emotional intelligence including self-awareness, self-regulation, social skills and empathy for others. I work with children who have behavioral concerns, sadness, anxiety and trauma. I use play therapy and art therapy techniques to build a trusting relationship with the child. I see children ages 4+ and work with parents who may be suffering from Postpartum.
