I believe that there are experiences in life that affect many aspects of our wellness and potentially leave us reeling. But, I also believe that there are opportunities that foster our amazing capacity to change, heal, and grow, even in tough circumstances. The first step is asking for help. As a counselor, I rely on my formal education; ongoing training; personal experiences; and best clinical, ethical, and legal practices. I am grounded by a strong Person-Centered Therapy approach and strive to meet my clients where they are at emotionally. I consider it an honor to work with clients on their specific and individual journeys and to accompany them towards self-fulfillment. I embark on each journey, going “the extra mile” when needed, to ensure that clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives by taking the next steps. I believe that personalized therapy is the cornerstone of ongoing client growth and overall wellness. I have experience working with children, adolescents, teens, adults, individuals, couples, groups, and families. I also have knowledge of coordinating and working with external systems (such as schools, doctors, and other helping professionals) in order to support a holistic approach to clients’ wellbeing. I understand that success means incorporating as many members of the clients’ support networks into the therapeutic process as possible. No one should have to do life alone. In my personal life, I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I practice self-care by reading, watching medical dramas, journaling, listening to music (and dancing badly), walking, and staying connected to my support network. I never say “no” to a cup of coffee or a marathon weekend of the Marvel movies, Harry Potter, LOTR, or Veronica Mars.
