Introduction

My name is Tom Tirman. I have served faithfully as an Anglican priest for over 3 decades. I have a BA in Religion from Butler University, a Masters of Divinity from Virginia Theological, a Doctoral degree in Parish Revitalization from McCormick Theological and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling including an Addictions Counseling endorsement. I consult and help clergy and congregations all over as an active priest in the Diocese of Quincy (Anglican). My passion for addictions and mental heath therapy came out of my own personal journey through addiction. I am active in my own recovery and the recovery community. I am currently over 8 years clean and sober. Sadly, addiction negatively affects people's lives in so many ways. Relationships can be broken, people can lose their families or careers, sometimes students who attend universities with moral behavioral contracts are trapped because they cannot only not get caught, but they cannot share that they need help for their problems. Chemical dependency, sex addiction, internet pornography are all real problems. And sadly they are often accompanied by mental health comorbidity, meaning depression, anxiety, paranoia, fear, and other things often come with it. As a therapist, I am not just book-smart, I have been there. I can help you deal with the issues disrupting your life and causing distress. Healing takes place when we do the work to get better. I would love to help you discover your path to health! My wife Amanda, who is a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, often is a consultant along with me in congregational issues, such as parish conflicts, seeking a new pastor, or forms of organizational redevelopment or revitalization. Our office number is 765-393-0725 and our FAX is 765-393-0952. I have recently started accepting insurance. If you want to see me via insurance register at my Headway website as Headway handles all my insurance billing.
