Todd Germain (LCSW, OTR) is a psychotherapist who brings over 30 years of experience to his work with children, teens, parents, and adults. As a psychotherapist, Todd understands that we need to access new solutions for old problems. We need a way to create new ways of being in the world that replace old patterns that no longer serve us in our lives. As an occupational therapist, Todd understands that in order to create those new solutions we must develop a sense of safety, security, and vitality in our embodied lives. Todd is on the faculty of the William Alanson White Institute in New York City. He has served as Director of their Parent Center and supervises students as well. He has also been an Adjunct Faculty member and has taught clinical coursework at Fordham University. Todd has authored and published his theories on the integration of psychotherapy and occupational therapy in The Journal of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Psychotherapy. He is also the co-author of “Lesson Planning a la Carte,” a book that helps teachers to make their lessons accessible to children and adolescents with special learning needs. He has consulted in a variety of educational settings in order to successfully implement this program. He has presented to parent and school groups on a wide range of subjects including autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and sensory processing disorder. Todd holds an M.S.W. from Yeshiva University and a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Buffalo University. He also holds a certificate of completion from the William Alanson White Institute for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. Todd maintains a private practice at Manhattan’s Columbus Circle and lives in New York City with his wife, two children and their lovable dog Olive.
