Timothy A. Hughes, MA, LPC, NIC ________________________________________________ Education: The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Languages: English and American Sign Language I believe that with support we can all become the person we feel we should become. I believe that we can find peace in our lives. In our appointments, we will together work towards this peace. It is in our appointments where you will find a space free from judgment. After all you are the expert of your own life. As a guide, I will help unlock the locked doors in your life. Sometimes the process of unlocking these doors might cause you to become uncomfortable. Behind these doors you will find resolution, peace and contentment. I know that making that first appointment is sometimes difficult but go ahead and take that leap towards recovery and open that first door. In recovery, clear communication is vital. I have learned Sign Language and am also an interpreter with 24 years of interpreting experience. If you are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and want to experience counseling in a judgment free zone with someone who understands you, please reach out. I will use a combination of techniques in the framework of the following; Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed, Strengths-Based, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Existential therapy and others. I graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in Crisis and Trauma Counseling. I have experience working in In-Patient and Out-Patient mental health with a wide range of age groups.
