I grew up in Michigan and have spent the majority of my adult life between Texas and Colorado. I have been married for over 15 years and have 3 children. I have extensive experience working with couples who are struggling to interact in a healthy way all the way to those recovering from infidelity. My experience also includes working with military families, both active duty and our Veterans. This work has provided the opportunity to work with a number of men who are struggling with the different transitions that life brings. Additionally, I have experience working with families who have a child with a disability, juveniles engaged in the juvenile justice system, and individuals and families involved with the foster care system. While providing therapy brings me joy, I also enjoy teaching and have held both full-time and part-time positions in three different Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) training programs. I received my undergrad degree in Michigan at Rochester University and then my Masters in MFT at ACU in Texas and my PhD in MFT at Texas Tech University. Being an MFT means that I incorporate many facets of your life into therapy. Often people think that MFTs only work with couples and families. While we do often work a lot with these clients, we also work with individuals and bring our systemic approach to therapy with them as well. Personally, it just makes sense to me to take into account all of the different systems you are connected to as I work to help you be where you want to be. I will work collaboratively with you and bring more than a decade of experience as a therapist into our sessions. I may also bring a little humor too. My hope is that you find a therapist that is the best fit for you. Sitting down and opening up with someone you don't really know can be intimidating.
