Often life is difficult and it presents challenging situations and events that are difficult to process and work through alone. Things such as trauma, divorce, family strife and dysfunction, life transitions, or a death experience are all reasons that life may seem out of balance. Feelings of anxiousness, depression, anger, fear and shame often follow and we second guess ourselves and past decisions. The last few years have not been easy ones to navigate and I am available to help you work through and process not only what led up to the situation but also how to make it better right now. I practice an integrative approach using CBT, DBT, emotion focused therapy, solution focused therapy, feminist theory and EMDR. While utilizing the theories that are specific to what you need I will introduce and teach you the skills necessary to deal with your past or current life changes or problems and get what you desire out of life now, enabling you to move forward. Gaining a better understanding of yourself is vital to the growth and healing process! I have experienced a great deal in my life and have seen first hand how powerful counseling can be. I believe this allows me to be empathetic while offering my clients the space to learn and grow, get through tough times, and come out stronger and healthier. I strive to build therapeutic relationships that are based on mutual honesty, trust, and acceptance in a nonjudgemental environment.
