Tianna is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) and a National Certified Counselor. She graduated from Wilmington University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and later obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and utilizes numerous modalities personalized to the client including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), REBT (rational emotive behavior therapy), MI (motivational interviewing), and Solutions-Focused Therapy, while maintaining a person-centered, strengths-based approach. Tianna has experience working with teens and adults living with serious persistent mental illness. She works with individuals of various demographics and backgrounds who are struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss, relationships, self-esteem, and life transitions. As a former D2 student-athlete, she understands the challenges young adults face transitioning between high school, college, and beyond while maintaining their sense of purpose and identity. Because everyone’s journey is unique, she focuses on meeting clients where they’re at with the understanding that life experiences and perspective play an important role in how we interpret the world around us. Tianna likes to challenge and empower her clients to not only identify negative thought patterns and beliefs but implement effective strategies that can facilitate positive change. She enjoys working closely with individuals and their families to provide a collaborative, holistic approach to therapy that incorporates both the mind and body. Tianna offers a down-to-earth, welcoming environment where clients can feel comfortable and understood while they process the challenges they’re facing.
