Tia M. Giberson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Addictions Studies from Monmouth University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Rutgers University. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Most recently, Tia worked with adults in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient setting. Tia has personal and professional experience working with low self-esteem, anxiety disorders, depression, anger, trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. Tia believes in a client-centered approach, based on empathy, support, non-judgement and some humor. She prides herself with honesty in the therapeutic relationship, creating a safe open space built on trust. Tia helps facilitate transformation through assisting clients with increasing self-awareness by exploring patterns in their lives, and empowering clients to pull from their strengths. Tia holds an emphasis on a holistic view and encourages clients to make changes in all areas of mind, body and environment. She also includes trauma informed care through increasing safety, and working to increase the mind-body connection.
