Introduction

Thoughtful Psychiatry: Our approach to both therapy and medication management tends to be psychodynamic. We seek to understand our patients, we are less interested in symptoms and more interested in understanding our patients as individuals. We are judicious when prescribing. We believe that medications are only one part of the therapeutic process. Patients receiving medications are also required to be in psychotherapy. Jeffrey Lucero, PMHNP is the owner of the private practice. He has completed fellowships at Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis and Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. He has a strong interest in attachment theory and the effects of parental attunement on personality development. He has extensive training in the treatment of trauma and personality disorders. Jeffrey implements psychodynamic principles when providing medication management. Jeffrey also supervises nurses that are pursuing licensure as psychiatric nurse practitioners. Darya Pokoevaya, PMHNP provides medication management and psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and children. Darya has an interest in treating patients with trauma. She has studied and practiced trauma-focused therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). She is a fully trained EMDR therapist. Margaret Hughes, CPNP, PMHNP is dual certified a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and pediatric nurse practitioner. After completing a masters in nursing with pediatrics specialty from Yale University she provided care to children and adolescents at Mattapan Community Health Center. She has also provided medical care to the college population at Northeastern University health center until recently. Margaret has an interest in working with adolescents and young adults and has been described as exceptionally warm and empathic. While she has studied various therapies patients find her caring, practical and easy to relate to. Gretchen Woodward is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate and comprehensive psychotherapy and medication management for adolescents and adults. Her training in CBT, AEDP, ISTDP and GPM blended with her clinical experience, intuition, and attention to individual needs, allow her to provide personalized care. She treats a range of conditions including ADHD, stress related and mood related disorders. Gretchen currently has openings for medication management for those who are currently receiving therapy. Tara Conklin is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing psychotherapy and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. She seeks to truly understand each of her patients and to support deep exploration of strengths and limitations. She uses a relational approach to offer perspective and work collaboratively with her patients to navigate the path forward in achieving meaningful solutions. Tara works together with her patients to enhance their life and support their fullest potential. She is always learning and she currently has training in CBT, DBT, AEDP, ISTDP, and IFS. In addition to her training, she practices social justice-informed therapy, as she recognizes and honors that her patients exist as part of their societal and cultural contexts. As such, she is particularly passionate about working with members of marginalized communities. Her patients have described her as approachable, warm, and a good listener.
