Relationships and connection: the heartbeat of a valued life. When our personal and relational worlds experience injury, even trauma, we get disconnected: your anxiety, depression or grief can take control; intimacy or closeness with loved ones may feel gone; expressing your needs and living as your true self feels unsafe. As your therapist, I want you to understand yourself deeply; and then I want you to understand your self within relationships deeply. By developing your awareness to how you love yourself and others, you will find your life and relationships transform as you lead from your truest sense of self. After more than a decade of providing counseling services in clinic and hospital settings, I am pleased to be able to offer individual and group psychotherapy for adults at my private practice in the Old Jefferson section of Baton Rouge. I specialize in person-centered therapy and these types of relational injuries, meaning I individualize sessions to your unique self and situation. My goal is to provide a healing space for adults of all backgrounds, who are grappling with a broad range of emotional and psychological challenges. In clinical terms, I actively seek trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as other modalities. Therapy begins with finding the right person to guide you. I'd love to take part in yours. More About Me: ThomasLorando.org
