Teryn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University, where she specialized in School Social Work. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in American Sign Language. Prior to working in a private practice, Teryn has experience as an elementary school social worker, supporting students with a range of mild to severe disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and Deaf/Hard of Hearing needs. Additionally, she has worked as a Registered Behavior Technician in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. In the private practice setting, Teryn has worked with individuals from 5 to 30 years old, supporting people who struggle with symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, depression, children with divorced parents, trauma, emotion regulation, and behavioral challenges. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in a strengths-based, client-centered philosophy, integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, behavior modification strategies, and mindfulness practices. Teryn adjusts her language and approach based on the developmental level of the client. Outside of work, Teryn enjoys spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, solving puzzles, and relaxing with her cat, Dude.
