Introduction

I approach this process from a place of curiosity. For those tribe members who want specifics (I see you!), I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems and attachment theory, among others. But primarily, it is about the connection between us. Do you feel safe? Honored? Held with dignity and respect? More than a diagnosis? Most of us don't realize the weight we carry from unrecognized harm and its trajectory to current day struggles. Sometimes you need to be reminded of the skills and strength that you already possess. Maybe you need to fine tune those skills. Or you need to spill the puzzle box of your life in order to start making sense and meaning of the pieces. Possibly plumbing the depths of your pain in order to come out on the other side. I have a special interest in sports psychology, institutional/organizational harm, family of origin (fancy talk for who you grew up with) harm, and survivors of narcissistic abuse. Where are you on the spectrum of difficulties/harm/abuse from these systems? Think of systems in terms of religious, military, education, mental health, medical providers and family.
