Introduction

“Actually, I can.” – note to self Tarynn has a special interest in helping individuals recognize, break free, and recover from gaslighting and narcissistic relationships. Seeking support is one of the first steps to overcoming the denial that is associated with this type of relational trauma (also known as attachment or complex trauma). Tarynn’s therapeutic style is compassionate, yet direct, with the intention of honoring your readiness and ability in labeling the abuse. She will sit in the anger, grief, and emotions with you while offering individualized reframing/coaching to help activate behavioral change congruent with your values. Through not bargaining, setting boundaries, self-advocacy, embracing hope, and skill building Tarynn will help you deconstruct to reconstruct your life worth living. You are deserving, you are enough, you are not alone, and you can do this. Tarynn is also passionate about supporting women who are ambivalent regarding motherhood, women who are childless (not by choice), and women who have chosen to be childfree. Tarynn has experienced her own infertility struggles that significantly impacted her quality of life and contributed to her decision to have a hysterectomy before being able to birth any biological children. She understands the uncertainty around readiness for pregnancy, the experience of thinking there is time, the devastation when loss happens, the shame in feeling flawed or even broken, and the internal experience when met with an external world’s bias around womanhood. She will hold the space with you to recognize and validate your reality against perhaps the life you had imagined. She will help you navigate a new way to process and tolerate all feelings to move towards healing and wholeness. As an intentional BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ ally Tarynn is attuned to and respectful of diverse backgrounds, cultural implications, and personal experiences. She counsels adolescents, young adults, and adults of all genders who are navigating a variety of life challenges and transitions. In addition to the above she has extensive experience treating anxiety, ADHD, depression, codependency, PMDD, situational stressors, and trauma. Tarynn has been an active member in good standing with the American Counseling Association since 2010. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (Level 2), Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy provider, and Certified Women’s Mental Health Specialist. She also has intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Contingency Management, and Motivational Interviewing. Tarynn and her Husband, Jon, are Berks County natives. They reside in the greater Reading area with their two fur babies – Abella (Calico) and Knylah (Tortie). Tarynn is a LEOW (law enforcement officer wife) as well as a Virgo! She enjoys astrology, nature, “slow living”, iced lattes, and “all the little things” life has to offer. As a self-described introvert you can find her off the beaten path.
