Tara received her Bachelor’s degree from Towson University in Chemical Dependency Counseling and her Master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from McDaniel College. Previously, Tara has worked in many substance use disorder and co-occurring disorder treatment settings as well as outpatient mental health counseling settings where she provided individual counseling and group therapy to adult populations suffering from addiction and mental health issues. Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Person-Centered Therapy are the basis for Tara’s therapeutic approach with patients. She strives to connect with and develop a working therapeutic relationship with the patient in an effort to create and sustain lasting life change. Outside of work, Tara enjoys reading, playing with her two dogs, and spending time with family.
