I provide a specialty therapy for people with a high degree of self-control (perfectionists, introverts, worriers, and the notably stubborn). Can you have too much of a good thing? It turns out possessing too much self-control impairs our ability to relax, adapt to change, and connect to others. Humans have a fundamental need for fun and belonging, without it, we’re naturally depressed and anxious. I’m trained in a therapy called RO-DBT that you can think of like openness training. Being flexible is not always intuitive; you can’t just try harder to make it happen. The good thing is that it is learnable. With work, my clients learn how to let their guard down and spontaneously enjoy the moment when the situation calls for it. I combine reliable structure and evidence-based advice with a warm and approachable therapy style. Please contact me for a free 15 minute consultation, during which, we'll discuss your goals for therapy and see if we're a good fit.
