Do you feel like you're losing sight of who you are? Are you stuck, overwhelmed, or at the end of your rope? Life's challenges, whether navigating difficult relationships, coping with loss, facing major transitions, or struggling to set healthy boundaries, can leave you feeling hopeless and unsure of how to move forward. Over time, stress, anxiety, depression, and grief can take hold, making it even harder to regain a sense of clarity and hope. But you don't have to go through this alone. Even in the darkest seasons, there is a way forward. Having the right support can bring clarity and understanding, helping you regain a sense of hope and the confidence to take meaningful steps forward. Meet Tammie Smeltzer Welcome to COR Restorative Counseling! Northern Colorado has been my home for many years, and I have loved raising my children near the scenic Rocky Mountains. When I'm not in the counseling office, you'll likely find me cheering on my son at soccer games, exploring mountain trails, or spending time with those I love. My faith, nature, and deep relationships are where I find renewal and joy, values that shape my work as a therapist. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Liberty University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. After years devoted to raising my children and serving in education, I felt a strong calling into the counseling field. This journey later in life gave me a broader perspective, shaped by real-world experiences in marriage, divorce, parenting, and the demands of modern life. As a Christian, my faith is central to my outlook and guides my work. Yet, I recognize that not everyone seeks faith-based counseling, and I respect each client's unique journey. My commitment is to honor your personal values, whether or not you choose to integrate faith into therapy. You are accepted and respected here, just as you are. Therapeutic Approach At COR Restorative Counseling, I combine my personal life experiences with professional training to create a warm, supportive space for healing and growth. My approach is eclectic, meaning I tailor therapy to each client's unique needs. I believe in the power of person-centered therapy, where empathy and deep connection foster healing. I also integrate existential and mindfulness-based practices to help clients discover meaning in their struggles. Additionally, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), providing practical tools for reshaping negative thought patterns and building resilience. As we work together, we'll explore your story, heal past wounds, and nurture the courage to embrace a healthier, more fulfilling life. You don't have to walk this path alone. I'm here to walk alongside you toward greater physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being. Why COR Restorative Counseling? "COR" is the Latin word for "heart" and the root of "courage," reflecting the belief that true healing, restoration, and strength come from deep within. From a Christian perspective it represents God’s power to heal broken hearts and bring them back to wholeness. Finding the courage to face our deepest pain isn't easy, but it's often the first step toward healing. At COR Restorative Counseling, I strive to create a space where you can reclaim joy, build resilience, and move forward with renewed hope and purpose. I offer individual counseling for teens, young adults (18+), adults, and couples. Ready to begin your journey toward healing? Let's take that first step together. I'd love to connect! Request a free 30-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit. Don't let another day go by without seeking the help you deserve.
