Introduction

Something feeling “off” but can’t quite name it? Are you feeling anxious or depressed? Have you struggled to feel safe and seen with a mental health professional? Let me help. If you’ve ever felt not good enough despite your achievements… If you’ve ever felt like you are just fooling people or are an imposter… If you struggle to “let go” or manage your emotions… If you struggle to find passion or meaning in your life and relationships… If you want to take off the “mask” you wear everyday and discover more of yourself… Let me help you ground you in your roots and grow your wings in my psychotherapy and wellness practice. Due to my background (PhD in Counseling Psychology & MA in Sport and Exercise Psychology), professional experience, and identity positionality (Black and woman), I am able to specialize in highly marginalized populations that need more culturally-responsive diagnosis, treatment, and support. I have great success working with clients from diverse and/or marginalized populations. I also love using my Sport and Exercise Psychology expertise to help clients enhance their personal growth, performance in a specific arena, or improve their relationship and leaderships skills such as student-athletes, elite-performers, executives, or parents. I enjoy utilizing mind-body (behavioral activation) approaches such as mindfulness, walk and talk sessions, and move your mood interventions that compliment an integrative and holistic approach to your wellness. My approach to counseling is person-centered (you-centered flexibility), experiential (hands-on, learn-by-doing), and integrative (innovative and individualized use of diverse and evidence-based tools, techniques and interventions), and multicultural (culturally responsive to diverse backgrounds and identities) and liberatory. The gift of our therapeutic and wellness work does not necessarily rely on removing internal or external ills from your life, but rather on facilitating resilience, power, and growth in you as a result of them. Let’s work together to increase your self connection and natural powers. Healing Outcomes include: helping people release themselves from shame and blame; increasing one's faith and trust in themselves; increasing one's response-ability in order to access buried, denied, or distorted emotions and experiences; increasing one's capacity to self-nurture via forgiveness, mindfulness, and an enlarged experience of themselves. Come, let's work together to grow you with authenticity and see you soar.
