Introduction

Takiyah Small is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and the Owner/Clinical Director of SBHC. Takiyah graduated and earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Human Development from Walsh University in 2017. She also earned her Masters in Business Administration from Walsh in 2015. Takiyah‘s passion is to help and serve others. Her experience includes but is not limited to working with high risk youth and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance, maladaptive behavior, disruptive mood, and thinking disorders. She specializes in treating individuals with suicidal ideation, major depression, anxiety, low self- esteem, family and relationship conflict, and behavioral challenges. Takiyah utilizes a variety of techniques to help her clients reach their goals, by working to increase awareness and by implementing a holistic approach- Mind, Body, and Spirit. She believes that neglecting one or the other equals partial results. Takiyah incorporates theoretical approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to name a few.
