I am Sylvia and I am looking forward to being part of your journey! I love working with young people and cannot wait to meet you! I first discovered my interest in mental health through my undergraduate degree in psychology. I went on to receive a master's in school counseling from Kansas State University and worked as a school counselor for the Blue Valley and Olathe School Districts. I finished my training as a play therapist at MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2021. This training changed my life and has become my passion! Playwise Therapy is an understanding and inviting space where children and teenagers can explore, heal, and grow. Here, clients can build the skills they need to face their challenges, gain confidence, and finally feel hope and joy again. Throughout our sessions, I'm here to help you identify and manage tricky emotions, build stronger connections with both yourself and others, and establish healthy boundaries and coping mechanisms. My goal is to see you step into your true self with confidence and empowerment. In our initial meeting, we'll discuss consent, confidentiality, and your therapy goals and what you are hoping to gain from our sessions. It is important to me that our relationship is a partnership where you can be comfortable asking questions and sharing concerns. This is a journey we will take together. I am looking forward to talking with you soon.
