I like to start the counseling process by telling my clients a little about myself as I believe it is important in building a great therapeutic relationship. I wear many hats in my life. A few of my favorite are mother, wife, pet mom and therapist. In my own life, I have found meditation and mindfulness practices to be useful for body and mind balance. I enjoy teaching these techniques to my clients. I have worked with a diverse population in many different settings, including inpatient crisis stabilization, forensic therapy, homeless outreach, and employee assistance. These settings have taught me how to assist with struggles from mild to severe. I use a Solution Focused Approach to empower my clients and help them see a happier and successful future. I see myself as a teacher, coach and cheerleader as I believe you are the expert on your life. I encourage the use of humor as it tends to help clients feel at ease. I am looking for clients that are as excited for their future as I am.
