Children, adolescents, and families have been my focus for 20 years. Whether families or individuals are seeking counseling for school-related issues, life transitions, family conflict, parenting, anxiety, mood disorder, and/or a combination of issues, I believe a strong therapeutic relationship provides support and guidance during the journey. I am humbled by others' willingness to share their experiences, encouraged by the strength of character exhibited in the pasts they survive, push through, and overcome, and am in awe of the resiliency demonstrated in the face of adversity. With a background in outpatient counseling, educational settings, residential settings, crisis, and in families' homes, I am experienced in assessment, individual and family therapy, school avoidance/refusal, and crisis/safety planning. My specialities include working with children and adolescents who struggle with school refusal, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and college-age transitions. For a client seeking a caring and experienced counselor to provide a comfortable and safe environment where the client may be him or herself without judgment, where change is encouraged and explored, and where emotions will be acknowledged and validated, Dynamic Counseling affords and promotes such a context.
