The best days as a therapist are the days when a client has progressed to the point of achieving their personal counseling goals and is ready to be discharged. It's the joy in seeing how far a client has progressed on their journey that brings them to point where they feel an internal sense of strength, confidence, and inner peace and believe that they are ready to continue their journey without me. As a therapist, I have the immense responsibility and privilege to walk alongside my clients for a period of time in their lives when they want to resolve issues of heart, soul, and mind. Unfortunately, no one gets through life without experiencing suffering. And, the suffering we experience in life absolutely gets in the way of our ability to thrive and flourish. As a therapist, I meet each client where they are on their unique journey and my goal is to help them get to where they want to go. As an integrative therapist, I utilize a variety of cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic therapies. This also includes being a trauma informed therapist who has completed EMDR basic training and is in the process of becoming a fully certified EMDR practitioner. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my specialities include: grief and loss, PTSD and complex developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and women's issues.
