Introduction

Susan is a Licenced Professional Counselor with a Professional Mental Health Counselor Master’s Degree and a Bachelor's degree in Exceptional Education. Prior to becoming a therapist, Susan worked as a Special Education Teacher specializing in reading, executive functioning, memory, parenting support and behavior interventions. Susan has years of experience working with different learning styles and crafts her therapy sessions to meet the learning needs of her clients. Susan has experience counseling Adults, Young Adults, Adolescents, and Children. Susan strives to provide a safe space for her clients so that they can reach their full potential during the therapeutic process. Susan believes in using a strength based approach to help clients re-frame how they see themselves so that they can experience self-actualization - the realization or fulfillment of one's talents and potentialities. Susan also enjoys working with parents who need support and guidance on how to manage their children’s behavior during different transitions in their children’s lives. Susan has experience working with Clients on depression, anxiety, grief, loss, PTSD, communication skills, suicide ideation, and trauma. In collaboration with her clients, Susan aims to jointly form realistic goals while using critical thinking to establish a road map towards effective coping skills. Susan is invested in supporting her clients so that they can independently manage their daily stressors and create a positive projection to their future.
