Summer Martinez, MS, LPC, ADS, works with all age groups using a trauma-informed, body-aware approach. She is trained in Anxiety Disorders, EFT, EMDR, and Nutrition & Mental Health. Summer is a HeartMath Certified Practitioner, offering HRV biofeedback as a therapeutic element to process experiences and provide nervous system relief. Additionally, Summer is a registered ADS (Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist) trained in the five-point ear acupuncture for a variety of ailments. Summer works both clinically and as a consultant with young children. To support this work, she is a Circle of Security Facilitator and graduated from the Irvin Harris Community Fellowship specializing in Infant Mental Health and Early Childhood Development. Further, Summer is a Provisionally Certified Trainer for The Growing Brain, developed by ZERO TO THREE, focusing on the factors that affect brain growth and development, communication and language development, cognitive and executive function, social-emotional development, understanding behavior and every day play in children from conception to five years old. Additionally, she is recognized as a Trainer for the Trauma-Responsive Care for Infants and Toddlers in Child Care curriculum. Knowing that relationships are the vehicles of change, Summer believes in the importance of positive interactions and trust in the therapeutic relationship. Further, she emphasizes the role of the body and it's importance in optimizing health. Learning how to tune in and listen to body responses, as well as how to regulate and strengthen the nervous system are important elements incorporated into all methods of therapeutic processing.
