Introduction

Dr. Steve is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He graduated from NYU with a Masters's Degree in Social Work and received his Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Steven is a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Social Work at Daemen College and has previously taught at NYU and Rutgers University. In his therapy practice, he works to provide a safe space for people to explore and reconnect with their true nature and find peace within their suffering. He has worked with folks on a variety of issues including but not limited to those who have been diagnosed with conditions like, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, borderline personality disorder, and substance use-related issues. He is a regular lecturer around the city on a variety of topics. He has lectured at Bellevue Hospital in both the Survivors of Torture Clinic and the Hospital's Psychiatric Grand Rounds. He has been a lecturer at Woodhull Hospital, Hunter College, Western Queens Mental Health Services, and other locations inside and outside of New York City. He uses an eclectic style of therapy based on the ideas of Attachment Theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology. He believes that therapy is the act of making known the unknown and learning how to cope with the challenges of life. He enjoys the process of connecting with others and helping them to discover and become more and more of who they truly are.
