My name is Steve Hayes, and I am a licensed counselor and the founder of Streams of Grace Counseling. Together with my colleagues, Jason Smith and Spring Jeffers, we have created a safe and encouraging place where you can experience healing and transformation. Our client-centered approach integrates spiritual growth and discipleship with best practices in mental health counseling. My personal experiences as a pastor who dealt with mental health challenges -- and the damage that can happen when those struggles are not met with compassion and grace -- created in me a passion to help others suffering from mental health issues and led me to earn a master's degree in counseling psychology. I am especially passionate about helping those who have been hurt by churches, church people, or spiritual authority, as well as anyone in ministry who needs a safe place to talk. But whatever your pain or struggles are, we would be honored to be able to walk beside you and help you in your healing journey. You can find more information about Jason Smith and Spring Jeffers in their profiles at meetmonarch.com. ___ Why are we called Streams of Grace? Grace refers to undeserved favor – kindness, compassion, and acceptance given regardless of our performance or ability. It is offered to every person by God and, ideally, from each of us to our fellow human beings. Streams indicate that there are many paths that contribute to our healing journey – whether it's being encouraged by a kind word; exploring the hurt and pain caused by people having wronged us; changing the way we think; learning to evaluate, acknowledge, and process our feelings; or simply having someone listen to us. Our goal is to help each client find streams of grace that will contribute to their journey toward healing and hope.
