I focus on helping you become more fully who you are or want to be. Over our lifetime we learn behaviors and beliefs that were rewarded or were necessary for acceptance at home, work, school or anyplace we interacted with others. We may carry these (mostly unconscious) beliefs and behaviors with us even though they may be unhelpful and/or destructive. They may show up in intimate relationships, friendships, work or other places that impact our quality of life. Working together we identify counterproductive beliefs and behaviors and replace them with beliefs and behaviors that support the adult you want to be. My practice is body-centered therapy using Internal Family Systems tools. These tools and methods provide my clients a way to see and understand why they act in ways that don't serve them well. Our sessions are a partnership led by you with guidance and information provided by me. All sessions are via videoconference. Finding the right therapist can be difficult and expensive. I like to schedule a 90 minute first session with the only goal of determining if this partnership is a good fit. It is a free session and you will have an opportunity to get a feel for how I work and together we can determine whether my skills and knowledge are a good match for your needs.
